- Tarangire National Park -
The park covers approximately 2600 sq. kms, lies to the south of large open grass plain of the southern Maasai land, 115 kms from Arusha town and it is the sixth largest National Park in Tanzania. Tarangire is commonly famous for its abundant bird life and visitors are frequently entertained by encounter of browsing elephants, which inhabit this park in the large herds. Other animals can be seen includes buffalo's, elands, warthogs, greter kudu, gernuks and impalas. Huge magnificent baobab rees add to the scenic splendor of this unique national park.

Common animals: Lesser and greater kudu, cheetah, lion, hyena, leopard, zebra, wildebeest, eland, warthog, giraffe, oryx, buffalo, hartebeest, baboon, impala, waterbuck, gerenuk, reedbuck, bushbuck, bat-eared fox, Thomson's gazelle, Grant's gazelle, mountain reedbuck, elephant, jackals. There are over 550 species of birds.
Distance and time: 120km (1 hour) from Arusha, 95km from Lake Manyara, 155km from Ngorongoro and 300km (4 - 5 hours) from Serengeti.
